Project Spotlight: Food Manufacturing Facility – Jackson, Ohio
Cotterman & Company Inc. recently completed a roofing retrofit at a large food manufacturing building in Jackson, Ohio. The project covered nearly 50,000 square feet and was designed to upgrade the existing metal roof with a high-performance single-ply system.
Scope of Work Highlights:
- Installed EPS flute fill insulation within the metal roof’s channels.
- Installed multiple layers of polyisocyanurate (polyiso) insulation, totaling approximately 4.5 inches, for added energy efficiency and durability.
- Applied a 60 mil white PVC membrane, secured using mechanical fasteners and induction welding.
- Removed and replaced all edge metals, including fascia, drip edge, counterflashing, gutters, and downspouts while preserving the existing ridge cap.
- Installed new PVC flashings at all roof edges, curbs, and penetrations, per manufacturer specifications.
- Added PVC walk-pads at all roof access points and HVAC service areas.
- Finished the roof with new kynar coated metal edge details in standard colors.
- Added a snow retention system along the gutter edge.
- Delivered a clean jobsite and a 20 Year Manufacturer’s Warranty with a 55 MPH wind rider.
This retrofit not only improved the roof’s performance and appearance but also extended the life of the building's roofing system providing long-term value and peace of mind for our customer.
